The following is the concluding part of the article Noble 9
i)Swami Pillailokachariar explains 9 types of relationship "Nava vidha
Sammandham" that exists between the Parmathma & the Jeevathma, these can never be broken, either by Paramathma or Jeevathma
1)Pitah - Putran
The relationship between a father & a son
2)Rakshaka - Rakshya
The relationship between the Protector & the protected
3)Seshi - Sesha
The relationship between the Master & the Servant
4)Bhartha - Bharya/Pathni
The relationship between the Husband & the wife
5)Gneya - Gnatru
The relationship between the knowledge & the knower) (that is Ariyappadum Vasthu & Ariyapadhubavargal
6)Swami - Swa(m)/Sotthu
The relationship between the Possessor & the Possession
7)Athma/sareeree - Aanmeega/sareeram
The relationship between the soul & the Body
8)Aadhara - Aadheya
The relationship between the supporter & the supported
9)Bhokta - Bhogyam
The relationship between Enjoyer & the Enjoyed
Thus
accepting HIM as our sakala vidha bandhu, we must educate our soul,
that "Apart from Emperumaan Sriman Narayana no body is our Saviour "as
explained by Swamy Pillai lokachariar in Mumukshupudi suram No 39 "Isvaranai ozhinthavarkal rakshakarallar"
j)Ekadhasi Vratham observance is very important to the bhaktas of Sriman Narayana, Srimadh Bhagavatham's Canto 9 speaks of
the significance of Ekadhasi & Dwadasi Vratams.
k)9 thousand padi is the vyakyanam of Thiruvaimozhi by Nanjeeyar.
l)Apart from this we have Nava dhanyas(9 grains) which are used for temple rituals before the commencement of Bramhotsavams
j)The 9th pasuram of Madhurkavi Alwar's Kannninun Siruthambu's gives us the priceless message of bhaagavatha seshatvam & importance of bhaagavatha kainkaryam. Here Kainkaryam itself is Purushartham.
k)Sri Bhagavath Geetha's 9th chapter shows us the way to Prapatti or surrender
Ananyas cintayanto mam
Ye janah paryupasate
Tesam nityabhiyuktanam
Yogakshemam vahamy aham
Here the Lord makes a solemn promise to all his devotees that whosoever worships him alone thinking of none else and ever united, he himself
attends to their wants and needs and provides them with security of what they possess. Here the Lord is asking us to surrender ourselves whole
heartedly to him, then only he will take full charge of our lives and
see to our wellbeing. Now the question comes, how do we surrender
ourselves? We have to surrender our ‘ego’, we have to surrender to his
will, we have to educate ourselves that "Apart from Emperumaan Sriman Narayana no body is our Saviour "whatever the Lord has done or
will do for us in the past, present or future would be for our best.
Draupadi was very proud of her five husbands, especially Arjuna, when
she was forced into the Royal Darbar and was being insulted by the
Kauravas, she surrendered to Lord Krishna only at the last moment when
she realized that her husbands were helpless her ‘ego’ was absolutely crushed and that is when the Lord came to her rescue and
protected her dignity.
Here comes the real meaning of Mumukshupudi sutram no 39"Isvaranai ozhinthavarkal rakshakarallar"
l)Sage Naradha once saw a big tortoise in River Ganga & astonishingly
praised it for its giganitic size, the tortoise replied "they are many
turtles like me in this Ganga, so this River is much appreciable".
Naradha started praising Ganga, she replied, "the Ocean is much greater than me as many rivers like me associate with it". Naradha now praised the Ocean, the
Ocean replied, "Even though I am a big ocean, I can be crossed by a ship, But the Earth has so many
creatures, wild life within, so It is the earth which is more
appreciable than me". Naradha started singing the praise of the
Earth. The Earth replied "If there are no Parvathas (Mountains), then
there is no rain, then there is no green life, all the creatures would
suffer without water, so it is the Mountains which are praise worthy".
Now the sage diverted his attention, to the Mountains, which replied
"Lord Bramha is our creator, he is praise worthy not us. Naradha
worshipped Lord Bramha who replied "Dear son, it is the Vedhas which
are definitely superior than me". Vedhas were worshipped by Naradha, in turn they answered, "Yagas are in fact much superior to us, if yagas
are not performed, we will become futile,so please worship yagas". Sage Naradha prayed to the "Yaaga Agni". it responded "Naradha, Lord Sriman
Narayana gives the benefits for the aahuthi homams which are done
through us, he is the greatest of all,he is the greatest guru, there is nothing apart from him, He is the first one to be worshiped and prayed upon". Now Sage Naradha realised,
1)The Tortoise
2)The Ganga
3)The Ocean
4)The Earth
5)The Mountain
6)The Bramha
7)The Vedas
8)The Yaga Agni
9)The benefit (which is bestowed upon the performance of Yaga)
Everything is Sri Hari, this incident Perialwar refers in his thirumozhi
"Aamaiyay, Gangayay, Aazhkadalai................: (4-10-2)in praise of Lord of Sri Rangam. Thus there is nothing apart from "Sri Hari! Sri Hari !Sri Hari !"
