Tula SnAnam begins tomorrow and lasts thru the entire month .
For those , who can , Talai Cauvery in Coorg , MaliDAutuRai ( Maayavaram ) In ChOLa Naadu , Srirangam , KUmbakOnam are
preferred places to take a bath in Cauvery . Another special place is Satyagalam in KarnAtaka , where Swamy Desikan
resided on the banks of Cauvery for some time and had His nityAnushAtanams . Lord VaradarajA’s and Perumdevi ThAyAr’s sannidhis are there and HH Sri ParakAla Matam Jeeyar and HH Sri Rangapriya Swamy and Swamy Desika BhaktAs will be performing Tula SnAnam there with Swamy Desikan’s standing archai . By copy of this note , I request Sriman Sridhar
of Bangalore to send the date for this celebration .
Tula SnAnam is done before Sun Rise optimally every day in Tula Month . If it is not possible , atleast perfrom the SnAnam for a day in one of the above stalams on the bank of Cauvery . All the sacred rivers of the land are said to reside in Cauvery during this month.
If you are unable to take the snAnam in Cauvery directly , Please take the usual PrAtha: SnAnam and assemble water in a special copper or Siver Kalasam and say the following seven Mantrams to invite Mother Cauvery to enter the waters in the kalasam and then pour that consecrated water to complete the Tula SnAnam . Ladies can use the modified PraNavam for their use as instructed by their AchAryAs . Those who can not take bath due to health reasons can perform Mantra SnAnama and have PrOkshaNam of the consecrated waters .

Agastya patnyai Nama;
Sarva PaavanAyai nama:
Mahaa PuNYAyai Nama:

Pranams, can u explain to me, are there any formalities in taking Thula Kaveri sananam? have we to take bath before taking bath in kaveri? & any slokas to be recited during the snanam?pl enlighten
